CORP Plan Meeting

Wednesday August 14, 2019 at 6:00 PM
Pioneer Park

The Village will need to update its’ Park Plan (called the “Comprehensive Outdoor Recreation Plan”, or “CO RP”) in 2019.

Last updated in 2012/2013, many ideas for neighborhood park projects completed in the last 5-6 years came out of these meetings. Projects such as the pickleball courts at Fort Howard Park, the Canterbury & Waterford Park picnic shelters, the western pathway extension at Pioneer, and the Sand Acres Drive Trail, are but a few of the larger ones.

Again…these ideas came from YOU! After your ideas and discussion points were given, our Park Board continued discussion and ranked potential projects, which have been considered in the last 6 budget cycles. Well….the CORP is supposed to be updated every 5 years, so it is time to get some fresh ideas from the community. What amenities would you like to see in our parks or in the Village, in terms of Parks & Recreation? A series of park meetings/ discussions have been scheduled to collect your feedback. Here are the dates:

Skyline Park: Wednesday, June 19th under the shelter at 6 p.m.
Aubinger Park: Wednesday, June 26th under the shelter at 6 p.m.
Canterbury Park: Wednesday, July 10 under the shelter at 6 p.m.
Fort Howard Park: Tuesday July 16 under the shelter at 6 p.m., as part of our Neighborhood Event
Smith Park: Tuesday, July 23 under the shelter at 6 p.m. as part of our Neighborhood Event
Sand Acres: Tuesday, August 6 under the shelter at 6 p.m. as part of our Neighborhood Event and National Night Out.
Pioneer Park: Wednesday, August 14 in the concessions shelter at 6 p.m.

We have tried to spread these out at various parks. They usually don’t last too long! Suggestions may be given for ANY neighborhood or park facility at ANY of the meetings. Just because a meeting is at a specific park, does not limit comments for just that park/neighborhood.

In addition, we will take suggestions at the September 17 Park Board meeting at Ashwaubenon Village Hall. Time TBD…. but likely between a 5:30p – 7p start time. And….there is an option of filling out an on-line form (available June – August on our website).

So….let yourself be heard for what recreational amenities you would like to see in Ashwaubenon. We hope to see you there!
